Jade Head

The Jade Head, the largest solid jade piece in the Mayan world was found in the Altun Ha ruins, which was the first ruins that we visited after moving here, in 1968. There has been lots of speculation since that time regarding the location of the Jade Head. On Feb 22, the Head started touring the country as it was the first time it was on display since it was found. Kevin and I snuck out for a few minutes to look at it while it was in BMP.

Here's a bit of background. Sorry for the blurry photo.

The location of the head and other objects in the tomb.

Other artifacts buried in the tomb.

Fancy blades and decorative pieces also in the tomb.
