We had an unexpected guest after Rosa and Lena left the Casa Spiegel. Eric was a student in the class that Uncle Tom was teaching in BZ. After the class, Eric was to stay in BMP and work at the hospital for a week. Turns out that the organization didn't try very hard to get him into the hospital and left him in a lurch. I placed a few calls, made 1 trip to the hospital myself, and 2 hours later Eric was assisting in his first surgery. Given the problems Eric was having with the other org, we let him stay at our house for the week. While here he purchased a new machete, which we promptly put to use cleaning up the back yard - in an attempt to get rid of Petey Possum - and to kill a scorpion running through the house.
