Max's Birthday Party

Max has been talking about his 3rd birthday since before my parents left in early January. He made several decisions early on regarding birthday particulars.

#1 Sophia had to make the birthday cake. No, he didn't ask her and no we didn't know if she had ever baked a cake before - she's only 9.

#2 Only Sophia could eat the cake with him. After a little persuasion, we were able to convince him that the rest of us could eat some of the cake.

#3 The cake would either be Elmo or Cookie Monster. He finally settled on Cookie Monster, as you will see below.

Sophia took great care in making the party invitations for both the night time party and the party at school the next day. She also decorated the entire cake, stating that if Max asked for it, she had to do it. She did have some reservations about the birthday party as there were more adults than kids invited. Eventually she was ok with it.
