Mena Holiday Party

We were invited to the 15th Annual Mena Christmas Party, which seems to include the Who's Who of Belmopan. (Max's teacher is Margarita Mena.) There were ambassadors (I sang the 12 days of Christmas with the US Ambassador), wealthy business people, high ranking foreign government officials.... and us. It was slightly weird because the hired bartender was our neighbor (Max's friend Lyn's dad). Kevin and Lloy became good friends that night.

The weather was horrendous - cold and downpouring. Max is decked out in some brown dresspants which are 2 sizes too big but they were also the only pants that had a shot of staying up all night.

Margarita collects nativity scenes. Max is showing the teacher's aid all of them.

Nope, not all looking at the same camera but this is probably our best family photo.
There was some live Jewish instrumental holiday music, Taiwanese Christmas carolers, Christmas caroling, Karoake, and dancing (well into the festivities as seen by this photo).

Jeff (who I assume goes by Geoff since he is British) was able to get Margarita's mother on the dance floor. Geoff is hilarious and was yelling cheers for Pasquales all night long. Sadly, he is only at the British High Commission on a temporary assignment and leaves shortly after the new year.

Margarita and Geoff.

We were getting ready to go home here. Kev was enjoying Lloy's mixed drinks and actually wanted to stay later than me. The little man was getting VERY tired so we left shortly after 11.
