Belmopan is known as the Garden City. Evokes images of overflowing gardens and flowers. Let's keep it real - New Jersey is called the Garden State and I don't recall being overwhelmed by gardens and flowers. The town population is close to 14,000. Didn't drive around it all that much but did check out some small residential sections. The US Embassy as well as many others are here. The new US embassy is a monstrocity and sticks out due to its size. There are only 100 people at the embassy yet the building looks like 300 could live there comfortably. The bus terminal and central government buildings are a little drab. The main roads are blacktopped but the residential roads we drove on were dirt.

(I did not take any of these photos.)
