Christmas Day!

For Christmas, we invited our close 'not-from-around-here' friends over for a day of food, fun, and drinking. Also thought this would be a good way for Mom and Dad to meet our friends and see who we are up to no good with. There were many pictures taken during the 10+ hour party - that's right, the first guests showed up around noon and the last guests left sometime between 1030 and 1130pm.

There were plenty of food and the bar was STOCKED. I made three different flavors of infused vodkas and by the time the night was over, there was only a total of .75 of a bottle left. The next day there was 12 bottles of wine LEFT OVER. All the food was fantastic. We had a table full of appetizers. Dad's pickled eggs were a hit and most were gone by the end of the night. Turkeys, hams, veg, roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberries, cheese, crackers, dips, cookies....the list continues. We were fortunate enough to borrow two tables and chairs from Margarita and Emile.

Nigel started the meal with a very nice toast to friends and family. Here is a good picture of all the invitees. Unfortunately, many of our other good friends were out of town but this is a pretty good representation.

Barry mentioned that the only thing missing from the festivities was singing some carols. We all sang a few and then Max upstaged us with his rendition of Jingle Bells. He's very good at this song. He and Grandma had been working on it.

Speaking of Aaron, he 'treated' us to a demonstration of his ability to eat mass quantities of food in a matter of seconds. Here he is eating Christmas cookies. Max kept egging him on asking for 'one more'. I'm surprised he didn't puke.

Surprisingly the only casualty of the night was one glass tumbler. Can you figure out who dropped it?

This was a fantastic way to spend Christmas. Great friends. Mom and Dad. All around great time.
