For Mom and Dad's final outing before they left Belize, we went to explore the Mayan ruins called Lamanai. We have never been to these ruins before so it was fun to do something new. The ruins are about 2 hours north of Belmopan and to get to them you have to take an hour long boat ride so the time investment in these ruins is large. The boat ride to the ruins is very beautiful and with plenty to see - a spider monkey jumped on the boat and ate crackers out of my and Max's hand, baby crocodiles, huge lizards in the trees, and Great White Herons.

This temple was so ridiculously steep that they actually provide a rope to use to go up and down. Kevin is scurrying up the stairs but mom decided to stop at mid level.
