Xunantunich

Saturday we took a day trip to the Mayan ruins at Xunantunich, which is 700 yards from the Guatemalan border. Guatemala and Belize have an agreement over the area as it was once a disputed territory. Now there are guards from both countries patroling the site. While we were on top of the Castillo, 2 guards armed with rifles walked through the plaza down below. I felt safe after seeing this. Kevin did not.
