Tortilla Soup and Razor Races

Margarita took it upon herself to invite Barry and five of his friends over for tortilla soup....at our house...the nerve. We were happy to have everyone over and to do a little Mexican cooking. For those that don't realize it, although Mexico and Belize share a border, there is very little, if any, Mexican influence or products in Belize. The pasilla negro peppers which are necessary for the tortilla soup were acquired on our trips to Mexico a few weeks back. So as you can see, having tortilla soup was a big occassion.
The tortilla soup had a bit of heat to it but all of the wine we were drinking may have helped us eat plenty of it.

All the fixings

At 10:30 we decided it was time to start the Razor races. As you can see, Max was still wide awake.

This whole Razor race thing was Kevin's idea. While dropping Max off at playgroup one day he saw the Razor's and knew then that he had to race Barry for all the glory.

Davide took his job as Starter very seriously.

Max wanted to get in on the action and race Daddy. Look at that determination in his eyes.

I believe that Max is winning.

Jose Luis chose Kevin as his first competitor. Again, with the determination to beat Kevin. Given the outcome of the race, I think Kevin should have taken Jose Luis a little more seriously.

Max and Emile watching the races.

The spectators and contestants waiting their turn.

Incredibly, the races went on until 1230 in the morning. It was a late Wednesday night!
